Jennifer Barbour
Jen was born in Connecticut and raised in the small town of Hinsdale, NH. As a teenager she traveled the world following a rock band which led her to Denver. She holds an Associate in Art with Spanish language study from Colorado Mountain College and a Bachelor's of Science in Interior Design from Colorado State University. She has studied painting, pottery, silversmithing and interior design. She enjoys exploring nature and collects random treasures from hikes in the woods to incorporate into her pieces; she sees this as a sustainable aspect. Jen enjoys experimenting with the effects of light on metallic paint and strives to create unusual texture and contrast in her multi-media artwork. Her recent creations have taken on a 3D quality and this is a result of her architectural studies. While Jen enjoys creating contemporary and modern wall art she is influenced by many late masters including Gustav Klimt, Eyvind Earle and Frank Lloyd Wright. A fascination of Asian culture is reflected in some of her work. Jen also feels a connection to the ancient arts of Greece, India and Egypt. She hopes to touch people’s souls on a positive spiritual level through the creative process.
