Chimes & Mobiles
Sub-Categories
Sunblossom Solar Chimes
Sunblossom Solar Gifts is a producer of unique and patented giftware utilizing natural light for it to function. All products provide you with magical chiming and movement. You will be delighted and soothed without needing wind or batteries. You will be presented with random, lilting tones drifting through the air with our indoor chimes, or with the delightful waving of a flower in a SoulMate's clasped hands. The artists of Sunblossom are committed to contributing beauty, joy, and harmony within the world. They bring these qualities by producing products that impact life in unique and positive ways: sometimes soothing, sometimes energetic, and sometimes whimsical and fun. They provide you with a respite from your hectic life and can provide food for your soul.
Moon-Lily Mobiles
Jan's Moon-Lily Silk Mobiles, a line of beautiful kinetic sculptures are reminders of the outdoors for those who garden, hike, or otherwise interact with the elements. Jan writes: "I am fascinated by patterns of growth or movement, and how things function. I have a deep affection for nature's details, and feel a sense of sorrow that everything must pass through the cycle of life, perhaps without ever being noticed. By reconstructing a small part of the natural environment, I am prolonging a distinct, fleeting moment. A mobile's perpetual motion conveys both my desire to extend time and the sensation of its endless, inescapable flow."
Tempest in a Teapot
Tempest in a Teapot is a combination of talents between long time friends and partners, Barbara C. Ryan and Elsa M. Mikus. Elsa had been actively involved in crafts and craft shows since 1991 doing decorative painting and, most recently, primitive dolls. In June 2001, Barbara decided to retire from Avaya (the new spin-off from Lucent Technologies). As she was casting about for her new career, friends decided that they too wanted to retire and offered to teach Barbara their techniques on how to make wind chimes from recycled items. Barbara & Elsa search at least one flea market per week to come up with enough stuff to create their chimes.
